Here is a link to a JavaWorld comparison of scripting languages. IC stacks up fairly well - they ran benchmarks on a 700Mhz Pentium III with 256MB, and I used my development machine, an underpowered 600 Mhz Celeron with 64MB. Despite this, IC benchmark times compare well, faling well behind the leader Jython (which is really fast), but being about the same as Rhino at no. 2, far faster than Beanshell or Jacl. The test results are in the downloadable documentation, but the general point is that IC is pretty fast and efficient. |
